At Hummingbird Cancer Support Group (Hummingbird CSG), the image of a hummingbird symbolises our H.E.A.L.I.N.G approach.
Help and Support
Navigating a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. Hummingbird CSG assists you in identifying your priorities, considering available treatments, and managing appointments. We guide you through the 5 W’s: WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and WHY.
Endurance and Energy
We encourage you to keep going, stay focused, and connect with like-minded people. Our sanctuary offers relaxation through complementary therapies.
Adaptable
We promote adaptability in your life, encouraging you to seek help, make changes, and find additional support.
Local Support
Based near Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, we are a local support group. Our volunteers live and work locally, fostering strong relationships with nearby hospitals and surgeries.
Independence and Integrity
Maintaining independence is crucial. We listen and help you determine the best course of action without dictating choices. We respect, and advise within our expertise, and uphold our group’s moral principles.
Nourishing and Nurturing
We provide care, encouragement, and support alongside your treatment. Our physical therapies, and mental and social support offer relaxation, a chance to talk, seek reassurance, and find companionship.
Gratitude and Giving
Gratitude at Hummingbird CSG involves appreciating what we have, expressing thanks to those who improve our lives, and adopting appreciative behaviours. Our volunteers freely give their time, and you may also support new members facing a diagnosis.
By embracing the spirit of the hummingbird, we strive to provide comprehensive support and a nurturing community for those affected by cancer.
