Attending a health-related support group will help you bridge the gap between medical support and other more holistic support you may need.
This will in turn help you understand your social, psychological and emotional health needs. A group such as Hummingbird Cancer Support Group will not only give you access to a range of friendly, qualified holistic therapists who can offer a range of lovely treatments but also provide opportunities to help you make connections, make friends and talk to people going through the same treatment. It provides you with a common safe ground to talk about how you are feeling, the side effects you are experiencing, the coping strategies and perhaps the positive things that have come out of your diagnosis.
Hummingbird CSG offers support in a H.E.A.L.I.N.G way and Help, and Support is at the top of the list. Our team consists of local people, some who have experienced cancer first-hand and others who are just happy to sit and listen to your story. We are also able to offer virtual meetups if you are not able to attend the support group in person. The sociable structure of our group means that people often feel part of a family and amongst friends
If you or your family member/carer want to enjoy a complementary therapy treatment, you can book in advance or during the session (How I Join). There is a suggested donation of £10 for each therapy you enjoy. This goes directly to the Charity to help us continue the support we provide.
