Brain Tumour Awareness Month March

Brain Tumour Awareness Month 2024

As March unfolds, it marks not only the onset of spring but also a significant opportunity to raise awareness about a critical health issue: brain tumours. Throughout Brain Tumour Awareness Month 2024, individuals, organisations, and medical communities around the world, including here at Hummingbird Cancer Support Group, unite to fight against this devastating condition.

Brain tumours represent a formidable challenge within the realm of healthcare, they arise from abnormal cell growth within the brain or surrounding tissues, leading to a range of symptoms depending on their location and size. Common signs may include persistent headaches, seizures, cognitive impairments, and changes in behaviour or personality. Undoubtedly, the disease can affect individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

At Hummingbird Cancer Support Group we recognise the multifaceted nature of this disease and we offer a range of therapies, ranging from physical complementary therapies like Reiki and Reflexology to mental support through counselling, and we aim to provide a holistic approach to care, ensuring individuals receive support at every stage of their journey.

By shining a light on brain tumour awareness this May, we can show our commitment to standing alongside those affected by this condition, offering compassion, guidance, and hope in their time of need. Please feel free to come down and see us at South Mill Arts, Bishop’s Stortford from 10:30-13:30 for our sessions every Monday.
